This is a specialist service. Patients are required to be referred by their family doctor, district health facility, or through the GPHC Outpatient Department.

    Comprehensive evaluation of facial injuries, deformities, tumours, and oral health issues.

  • Trauma surgery

    Repair of facial fractures and soft tissue injuries.

  • Corrective jaw surgery (orthognathic)

    Realignment of jaws to improve function and appearance.

  • Oral surgery

    Removal of cysts, tumours from the oral cavity and salivary glands, and management of infections.

  • Reconstructive surgery

    Restoration after injury, cancer, or congenital conditions.

  • TMJ (temporomandibular joint) management

    Diagnosis and treatment of jaw joint disorders.

  • Post-operative care

    Monitoring, pain management, and support for optimal healing and rehabilitation.

Our Team's Expertise

Dr. Yassim Aguila
Head of Section

Dr. Yassim Aguila earned his Doctor of Dental Surgery from the University of Medical Sciences of La Havana (2008, with distinction), followed by a Master’s in Dental Emergency Care, a Specialty in Comprehensive Dentistry, and a Specialty in Maxillofacial Surgery. Since joining GPHC in 2018, he has also served as a lecturer in the University of Guyana School of Dentistry and the Otorhinolaryngology Master’s Programme. He is also the author of nine published scientific articles.
