Post-Care of Surgery
Once patients are discharged post operatively, they are reviewed serially in clinic and guided along the recovery and rehabilitation period, thereby providing continuity of care.
Our Team's Expertise
Dr. Sudhir Sharma is a senior consultant ENT surgeon and Head of the ENT Department at GPHC, with over 50 years of clinical and academic experience. Trained in India, Austria, and the Caribbean, he has published widely and presented internationally. He serves as Programme Coordinator for the DM in Otolaryngology–Head and Neck Surgery at IHSE, leading curriculum development and specialist training, and advancing ENT education through partnerships with global medical institutions.
The ENT Department is led by a skilled and dedicated multidisciplinary team:
Otorhinolaryngologists
Doctors with postgraduate training in otorhinolaryngology. They manage routine procedures and complex, high-risk cases referred from across Guyana. Our team is led by our Head of Department Dr. Sharma and two other consultants (Dr. Carlos and Dr. Legall) as well as two Registrars.
Residents
Doctors currently in the postgraduate program in Otolaryngology.
ENT Nurses
Our nurses assist with patient assessment, in clinic procedures and ear syringing to name a few to deliver exceptional patient care.
Ancillary Staff
Support daily operations and patient flow, ensuring efficient and safe service delivery.
