The Medical Outpatient Department (MOPD) at Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC) serves as a primary walk-in clinic for patients without referral. Located beneath the Ministry of Health’s Malaria and Dengue Testing Facility, it offers consultations, wound care, pharmacy services, and lab testing to patients from across Guyana.

    • Same-day outpatient care for patients referred from other GPHC departments

    • Assessment for patients triaged from the Emergency Department

Dr. Ryhan Singh
Head of Department

Dr. Ryhan Singh-Raghunauth is a Physician with 23 years of experience, specialising in general and primary care medicine with a strong interest in internal medicine. She holds degrees in Biology, Medicine & Surgery, and Public Health, along with postgraduate certification in Paediatric Nutrition and a Master’s Certificate in Hospital Management. Her career has been dedicated to delivering high-quality primary health care. 

The MOPD is staffed by a multidisciplinary team committed to providing fast, efficient, and compassionate outpatient care.

  • Medical Officers

    Seven doctors with diverse backgrounds span emergency medicine, general practice, internal medicine, and surgery, allowing for broad clinical coverage.

  • Nursing Staff

    Registered nurses, nursing assistants, and Patient Care Advocates (PCAs) provide triage support, wound care, and dressings, ensuring continuity between medical and nursing services.

  • Pharmacy and Laboratory Personnel

    Onsite pharmacists, pharmacist assistants, and phlebotomists facilitate medication dispensing and diagnostic testing.

  • Support Team

    Clerical staff, patient advocates, janitorial staff, and security personnel ensure efficient patient flow and a safe, well-maintained environment.
