Press Kit: Breast Reconstruction Surgery Programme.

Programme Highlights

Patients Treated:

  • Total: 9 patients
  • Breast/Chest Wall Reconstruction: 8 breast cancer survivors (varied cancer types; some with prior radiation and/or chemotherapy)
  • Facial Reconstruction: 1 patient injured in a boating incident approximately two months ago.

Surgical Breakdown:

  • Microsurgical Cases: 3
  • Macrosurgical Cases: 6

Breast Reconstruction Surgeries

Procedures included:

  • 1 TRAM Flap
  • 1 VRAM Flap
  • 2 DIEP Flaps
  • 4 Extended Latissimus Dorsi (LD) Flaps

Facial Reconstruction Surgery

  • Patient: Female boating incident survivor
  • Procedure: Anterolateral Thigh (ALT) Flap + Bone Graft
  • Complication: Thrombosed vein, requiring revisitation of surgery. Flap is now viable.

Post-Operative Outcomes

  • 4 patients discharged
  • 5 patients remain under inpatient monitoring
