At the invitation of the Guyana Ministry of Health (MOH), a team of 17 Northwell global health professionals travelled to Georgetown on November 14, 2021, to explore opportunities for collaboration. Over the course of the visit, the team partnered with the MOH, Georgetown Public Hospital Corporation (GPHC), and the University of Guyana (UG) to identify shared priorities in clinical care and health system development.

This collaboration resulted in a 5-year Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) between CGH/Northwell Health, MOH, GPHC, and UG, establishing a long-term commitment to strengthening healthcare delivery in Guyana. Guided by our local partners, CGH has since developed targeted implementation strategies to support this shared vision for improved health outcomes.

At GPHC, CGH currently supports over 10 active service lines, spanning specialties such as psychiatry, paediatrics, internal medicine and pathology. These programs enhance patient outcomes by introducing advanced clinical protocols, expanding training opportunities for healthcare providers, and improving access to specialized services for the Guyanese population.
